PRESS RELEASE [20080101] A PUBLIC RESPONSE TO FALSE AND DAMAGING COMMENTS POSTED ONLINE BY JOHN YUREK OF KATHOUSE PRODUCTS Dear Friends, In 2005, aaron greer recorded a full length CD entitled "Together For The Good" in the basement of the home of Mr. John Yurek. A few months after the release of the CD, the aaron greer band was starting to be formed to promote the project. While the aaron greer band was being formed, Mr. Yurek abruptly ended working with Aaron at his own decision. Shortly after that, we discovered that Mr. Yurek had posted false and damaging comments about aaron greer band online. Included in these comments, Mr. Yurek accused aaron greer band of not paying for the the recording of "Together For The Good". We wish to respond to these comments: 1. The cost of recording in Mr. Yurek's basement was never agreed upon. Payments terms were never discussed, as Mr. Yurek always stated "don't worry about it..." A number was never mentioned nor was an agreement ever reached. No invoice was ever received. 2. aaron greer band proposed to Mr. Yurek what they felt was a fair way to split revenue earned from the sale of the CD; giving Mr. Yurek 1/3 of all proceeds from sales of this album, with 1/3 going to aaron (who wrote and performed all the songs) and the other 1/3 going to the record label, Division Tree Records, to cover the costs of duplication. This was the fairest deal we could think of, and we asked Mr. Yurek to present any ideas on how to improve the deal. This deal was presented to Mr Yurek before he abruptly ended working with Aaron. 3. aaron greer band did, on multiple occasions, try to share with Mr. Yurek proceeds from sales of the CD. Mr. Yurek refused to cash multiple checks sent to him. Aaron Greer personally went to Mr. Yurek's doorstep twice in early 2006 and offered to work out resolution to this issue, in the hopes of saving their longterm friendship. Mr. Yurek refused. Mr. Yurek abrubtly ended the second meeting and retreated to his home. Attempts to contact Mr. Yurek via postal mail afterwards were never returned. We are saddened of the turn of events that have taken place between aaron greer band and Mr. Yurek. To summarize, aaron greer band has done eveything in our power to attempt to satisfy Mr. Yurek: Dispite not being given an invoice, or having any idea of what price Mr. Yurek is charging for recording in his basement, we have repeatedly tried to share proceeds from sales of this CD with Mr. Yurek. He refused to cash the checks we set to him. Our offer to John Yurek stands, even though the album "Together For The Good" CD is now out of print. We would be delighted to share with John a 1/3 share of any profits earned from the sale of any songs appearing on the "Together For The Good" disc. We have sought pastoral council on this matter and believe that our actions are just. We believe John Yurek to be a good man even in light of the things he wrote about us.
